Bridesmaids and Another wedding

I have heard your cries, "We want more! We want more!" Well I've been a little busy with another wedding... Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Mueller! It was a beautiful day and a beautiful wedding!

So on to the Hinson/Spurgeon Wedding:

The cut throat competition has started for the game I like to call "Whoooo will be a bridesmaid....?" (Did you read that in a game show host voice? Because that's what I was going for...)

Lindsay has picked her girls and last week we all got little cards she, with the help of grandma's many scrapbooking supplies, made.

So here they are in no particular order. Except I'm first because I do what I want ;)

Alex Hinson -Maid of Horror I mean Honor. I'm full of jokes today lucky readers! Sister of the bride and, even though he won't admit it, Cody's BEST friend! I heard rumors that there was a fight whether I would be her MOH or his Best man. I guess she won!

Kelly Kimzy- Matron of Honor and best friend of the Bride for something like 17 years. Oh and also wife of Cody's "real" best friend Darrell.

Shelby Marler-Bridesmaid and best friend of the bride for I'm going to assume she has Kelly beat so I'm going to say 20+ years. Dang you three are old!

Ashley Fuchs- Bridesmaid and friend of the bride....who likes to come over to our house for second dinner and freak Doug out with her food baby. HA

Amanda Naes-Bridesmaid and friend of the bride, and roomie, and barrel racing partner, and hauling buddy, and... The list goes on and on.

Katie Manion-Bridesmaid and friend of the bride. And I like to think of her as Lindsay's mini me

Brittany Kelly-Bridesmaid and friend of the bride and groom. Who has her own wedding in October that Lindsay and Cody are both a part of.

Taylor Horrel-Bridesmaid and friend Lindsay met at Vet Tech School. Oh princess :)

There you have it folks. I'm still trying to get hairspray out of my hair from yesterday so until next time....

Checked Off Two Big Things on the To-Do List

Well folks...we have venues for the ceremony and reception and a date!

Drumroll Please.......... JUNE 6TH 2015!!!
The official countdown

Now the real fun begins. So far there's been a disagreement about colors and the guy's attire...but not a disagreement between bride and MOB (mother of the bride) but between bride and groom...dun dun dun there's your drama for the day! Haha Who do you think is going to win this one!? Vote below

This week I've gotten numerous calls and texts..."where's the next post?" "How come you haven't written anything this week?!" People I'm camping! Can't a girl go on vacation!? It's June so it's our yearly pilgrimage to our hillbilly Mecca... Bennett Spring State Park. Most of the group is already down here and the rest will join us tomorrow (Friday).
My favorite picture

Well I've already had four people telling me to get the heck off my IPad....until next time.

Who will win the color/attire war?
Bride
Groom

The ambushes have started. I figured people would rapid fire questions at the bride but the mother and sister of the girl who will be wearing white?! Apparently yes. I can't even get a dang pedicure without getting asked tons of questions. I guess it is the result of living in a small town but geeze!

The ring
So to answer the top 5 questions I've been asked everyday since the engagement
1) no a date has not been set
2) no the venue has not been decided on
3) well as of right now it's looking like around 300 people
4) she loves her ring, Cody did a fabulous job!
5) no she's not pregnant.

Okay I'm kidding about the last one...no one has asked me that!

So the venue search...Today Martha and I checked out a place here in St. Clair. It's called Lost Hill Lake Events and it.is.beautiful!
The entrance

Ceremony Space....just beautiful!
But there's a catch....always a catch. They only have two openings in the spring on weekends that will not work....and their walnut trees that provide shade and are so pretty probably won't have leaves till mid may! :(

So the search continues....

I feel I owe you readers a little bit of back story.  Hmm...what should I say about our relationship? Well pictures are worth a thousand words, right?

Ha! Let’s see my earliest memory of Lindsay was about a month before she was born and my mom was sitting on her bed crying. All I could think was "I knew it! You don’t want her either…" Turns out she was really crying about the 8 week old puppy dad and I just brought home, something about having a puppy AND a newborn.

For the most part I think we've had the typical older sister/younger sister relationship. I'm the organized and responsible one and Lindsay is the wild child. Ask her about the time she drove the car into the gas station....

Or I’ll just tell you. Mom went into the gas station and left us in the car like all responsible parents did at the time and Lindsay got the bright idea that she was going to pretend to drive. Well, somewhere in the “pretend” part she put the car in gear, amazing how she knew it was exactly three pulls to get it in drive…farm kids. The car started rolling at a lighting speed of about 2mph and my mom came running around the back of the car, flung open the door, pushed Lindsay out of the way and onto the floor board, then threw it in park at the same time we hit….the rain gutter on the side of the building. I’ll let her tell you about the spanking she got for that one.

That pretty much sums up how Lindsay operates...quick decisions and stubborn till the end. We are now 48 hours into this engagement and major decisions are coming down the pipeline. Here's the list: number of bridesmaids/groomsmen-disagreement included, church vs non-church ceremony smack down, the cut throat competition of who will actually be invited to this wedding, and lastly where the hell in this area are we going to find a barn to hold 300 people and not pay an arm and a leg!

I have calmly sat by and nodded and listened to every detail that's being thrown out there but then tonight sitting around grandma's dining room table, listening to Lindsay, my mom, and some aunts talking...my face kept doing this weird thing were it reacts before I can stop it...I spent part of my evening like this

but then I remind myself...not my wedding, not my wedding, not my monkeys-not my circus...err I mean not my wedding. Stay tuned...

My little sister is getting married...let me rephrase that...my little sister is getting married before me. I always knew it would be this way. But DAMN. She has been engaged for less than 24 hours and the plans are already rolling. And some how I got myself stuck right in the middle. Is this what good sisters do? Help with all the details. Write out the insanely long guest list. Nod and say "okay I can do that" CRAP! I just agreed to search for venues tomorrow. Outside, preferably a barn, holds 300+ people, and a good place for bridal party pictures... Got it! Here we go. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Quote of the Day:
"My guest list is already 300 people, this is turning into Jesus trying to feed all those people with the bread and the fish."

 Dear Lord help us.
